Things to do at Månafossen
Månafossen is a waterfall of around 92 metres, usually described as the tallest in Rogaland county, dropping into the valley above Frafjord in the Ryfylke area. It is not a national record, just a Rogaland one, so treat the claim accordingly.
The waterfall is reached by a moderate hiking trail rather than a roadside viewpoint, so allow time and proper footwear rather than expecting a five-minute stop. Rogaland's weather runs wet most of the year, with well over 1,000 mm of rain annually around Stavanger, so a dry trail is not guaranteed even outside winter. There is no entry fee to see the falls themselves.
Come prepared for changeable conditions underfoot and check the season before setting out, since a moderate trail can still turn slippery after rain.
