About Stavanger Trip

Stavanger Trip is an independent travel resource dedicated to helping you discover Stavanger and the Lysefjord, from the hike up to Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock) and the vertigo-inducing Kjeragbolten to fjord cruises past waterfalls and sheer cliffs, the wooden old town of Gamle Stavanger, the Flørli steps, the beaches of Jæren, the Ryfylke fjords around Sauda and Suldal, and the day trips that make sense from Stavanger.

What we do

We create in-depth, regularly updated travel guides covering Stavanger, the Lysefjord and the Rogaland region, day trips to Preikestolen and Kjeragbolten, fjord cruises through the Ryfylke, the Flørli steps, the Jæren coastline, Sauda and Suldal, and practical planning advice — including getting here via Stavanger Airport, Sola (SVG) — for both first-time and repeat visitors. Every article is researched thoroughly and written to give you genuine, useful advice — not generic filler content.

How we earn

Stavanger Trip is funded through affiliate partnerships, primarily with GetYourGuide and Viator. When you book a tour or activity through one of our links, we earn a small commission at absolutely no extra cost to you. This income allows us to keep the site running, create new content, and maintain existing guides.

Our affiliate partnerships never influence our recommendations. We suggest activities and tours that we genuinely believe provide good value, regardless of commission rates.

Editorial independence

We are not sponsored by any tourism board, hotel chain, or tour operator. Our recommendations are entirely independent. If something is overpriced, overhyped, or not worth the trip, we will say so.
