What every traveller needs to know

A valid passport, or a national ID card for EU/EEA and Swiss citizens, is required for entry — check that it will remain valid for your planned stay.
The EU's Entry/Exit System (EES) and the ETIAS travel authorisation will eventually apply to visa-exempt travellers, but their launch dates keep slipping — check travel-europe.europa.eu before you fly rather than assuming a date.
No vaccinations are required to enter Norway.
Visa-exempt visitors can drive in Norway on their national driving licence for the length of their stay; an International Driving Permit is recommended alongside an older paper licence.
Norway is outside the EU customs union, so duty-free allowances and tax-free shopping refunds on purchases made in Norway apply to every visitor, including those from the EU/EEA.
