Day trips

Preikestolen, the Lysefjord and Kjeragbolten anchor most day trips from Stavanger, alongside the Jæren beaches, the Ryfylke waterfalls around Frafjord and Månafossen, and the Viking sites around Haugesund and Karmøy. Distances stay short by Norwegian standards, with most of these destinations reachable within an hour or two, but a Kjeragbolten day needs a very early start given the hike's 6-8 hour length. Most visitors pick one main destination per day rather than combining two of the longer hikes.
