Getting there & around

Sola airport (SVG) sits about 14 km from central Stavanger, with Kolumbus running the local bus network, including routes and ferries out into Ryfylke. Reaching Preikestolen or Lysefjord boat departures from Stavanger typically means a ferry-and-bus combination or a seasonal direct bus, while Kjeragbolten requires a hire car or organised transport out to Lysebotn. A hire car gives the most flexibility for Jæren, Ryfylke and the Dalane coast, all of which sit outside the reach of a quick city bus.
